This brief tutorial will demonstrate how easy our Visual Overlays (and other chromakey products) can be used in your productions. If you're using the alpha-channel embedded Quicktime MOV files then overlaying is a couple of clicks in Vegas and that method is the same shown using our Globes Collection help found on our support page.
Firstly ensure your overlay is *above* your footage on Vegas' timeline

Now we're going to tell Vegas to make any green areas transparent by Right Clicking on the Overlay and selecting Video Event FX

The Plug-in Chooser dialog appears and you should select the "Sony Chrom Keyer" option and click OK

Using the Preset drop-down menu you should select Green Screen (or Blue Screen if the overlay has a blue background).

From there it's just a case of tweaking the Low and High Threshold and Blur amounts to your satisfaction. You may prefer a hard key in which case you should leave the Blur amount at the default of 0. During our development of the Visual Overlays we found the following settings to offer a very satisfactory key for most of the animations. Use the preview window to see in realtime the changes you're making until you're happy. You might want to create a new Preset if you get a great key so you can quickly pull it up in future projects.

And that's it. Render your project and see the results!
